“It was a joy to work with Jordon Labocki, the builder, with his long experience in building high performance, energy efficient custom homes.” – Ken and Carol

“Village Roots brings together all the things we care about for aging in place: a wonderful neighborhood with a community garden and barn, easy walkability to downtown, parks, and bike paths, and, most of all, its beautifully- crafted homes. It was a joy to work with Jordon Labocki, the builder, with his long experience in building high performance, energy efficient custom homes. Our house has solar panels, 2 X 6 framing, foam sheathing, and is highly insulated. Jordon takes care of the details with quality windows, taped sheathing joints, and foam sealing to block air infiltration. He avoids potential problems by using the best building materials and latest technologies. Standard features include energy efficient heating and cooling, ERV air exchange, humidity control, and radon venting. Jordon also worked with us to incorporate universal design features for aging in place. We love our beautiful new solar, energy efficient home. Even our grandkids think we are “cool” because of our both comfortable and more sustainable way of living.” – Ken and Carol,  Old Sycamore Lane

With every house plan in Village Roots, you will have a welcoming green side front porch, where you can enjoy your porch swing and still have plenty of room for a table and chairs as neighbors stop by. You’ll have a private patio where cookouts or play can be part of your daily routine. The exterior of your home will be clad in durable fiber-cement board siding, and colored in your chosen color scheme. Inside, there will be hardwood floors and wide trim around doors and windows, to set a warm and inviting tone. All door ways are three-feet in width for aging in place. Life is complete on the first floor.

Old Sycamore Lane is specifically designed to slow down traffic and encourage a leisurely stroll. With a no outlet cul-de-sac design and a neighborhood of only 10 homes, traffic will be minimal. A sidewalk and pathways let you head off to the Rails to Trails bike path, the gardens, the barn or in any direction to downtown.
